Property:White or pale yellow needle crystals. Melting point 270 ºC. Soluble in ethanol and dilute alkali solution, slightly soluble in water, ethanol and insoluble in ether and . Odorless, slightly bitter taste.

Application:This product is the intermediate of the drug Pingchuanning. 6,7-Dihydroxycoumarin is methylated with dimethyl sulfate to obtain Pingchuanning (dimethoxycoumarin). This is an anti-asthma drug with obvious anti-asthmatic effect, expectorant and antitussive effect. Qinpiyi itself is an antibacterial drug, which has an inhibitory effect on Shigella, and can be used to treat acute bacillary dysentery.
